As our Senior Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate financial records for multiple clients. This role involves overseeing daily bookkeeping activities, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive bookkeeping experience, with experience working on complex bookkeeping, payroll & GST issues, with excellent organizational skills, and a keen attention to detail.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for clients, including recording transactions, reconciling accounts, and managing ledgers.
- →Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- →Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other accounts to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- →Oversee payroll processing, including calculating and recording payroll transactions, including payroll calculations, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- →Prepare and lodge activity statements, GST reconciliations, PAYG and BAS
- →Support clients with Individual Tax Returns (ITR) and basic business tax matters, including sole trader tax obligations. Prior experience in these areas highly regarded.
- →Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and stay updated on changes in accounting standards and practices.
- Advanced proficiency with Xero including payroll module – must have
- MYOB knowledge is beneficial
- At least 4 years of Australian bookkeeping and payroll experience within a public practice environment.
- Strong knowledge of Australian bookkeeping principles and practices.
- Proven experience working with multiple bookkeeping clients and BAS preparation
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated, disciplined, and proactive in a remote work environment.
