We are seeking an independent, highly resilient Data Warehouse & Integration Engineer to join our Business Intelligence team. While corporate systems migrate toward SAP for core finance, our platform remains the vital engine for business continuity, serving a large, critical community of non-finance users who rely on us for accessible, transparent sales revenue data.
We ingest data from SAP and legacy systems, manage complex suspense queues, but drive toward 100% data accuracy and reconciliation—ensuring our users have a seamless, dependable, and highly accurate reporting layer. If you love deep database forensics, complex PL/SQL logic, and building data pipelines that ensure business continuity amidst major system transitions, this role is for you.
In addition to hands-on engineering, you will serve as a technical anchor for the team—guiding other team members, promoting engineering best practices, and ensuring a high standard of code quality and data consistency.
A mission-critical role where your work directly safeguards business continuity and user trust
The autonomy to help select and implement a new, cost-effective ETL tooling stack
Opportunity to flex and grow your technical leadership skills, serving as a mentor and architectural guide without the administrative burden of people management
Data Quality, Reconciliation & Suspense Management: Design and maintain rigorous data quality and reconciliation checks to align our system with upstream SAP data. Independently manage suspense queues to catch, investigate, and remediate SAP data inconsistencies before they impact downstream users.
Business Continuity Support: Maintain the backend database architecture and pipelines that support our large non-finance user base, ensuring 100% data accuracy and uptime for critical sales revenue reporting.
Data Pipeline Management: Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot existing ETL processes built in Pentaho, ensuring stable data delivery from Oracle to our Snowflake target environment.
ETL Migration Project: Actively participate in researching, testing, and executing a migration strategy to transition our data pipelines away from Pentaho to a low-to-no-cost open-source alternative (e.g., Apache Hop, Airbyte, or Python/SQL).
Database Development: Write, refine, and optimize advanced Oracle PL/SQL packages, stored procedures, and views required to process complex revenue data and handle data remediation.
Production Support & Scheduling: Monitor daily batch jobs and schedules using AppWorx in a Linux environment, taking swift ownership of resolving daily load failures.
BI Layer Integrity: Ensure the underlying data structures feeding SAP BusinessObjects are performing optimally and perfectly reconciled against business rules.
Technical Guidance & Quality Advocacy: Act as a technical mentor for junior or peer team members. Establish and champion best practices for code design, documentation, and data validation, leading informal design reviews to ensure consistency across all work.
Experience: 3 to 5+ years of experience in Data Warehousing, Data Integration, or Data Operations.
Database & PL/SQL Mastery: Strong expertise in Oracle database development, with proven experience writing PL/SQL to handle inconsistencies in source data.
ETL Background: Practical experience with Pentaho (Data Integration/PDI), with an appetite to help migrate legacy workflows to modern open-source pipeline tools.
Target Ecosystems: Comfort navigating Linux environments and a solid understanding of cloud data warehousing (specifically Snowflake).
Reconciliation Mindset: A strong background in data reconciliation, error handling, and managing suspense data. You take pride in chasing down data discrepancies to achieve 100% accuracy.
Job Scheduling: Familiarity with enterprise scheduling tools (experience with AppWorx is a major plus).
Attributes: Highly independent, analytical, and adaptive. You look at a "black box" system failure as a puzzle to be solved rather than a roadblock.
Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Ability and desire to guide other developers, explain complex technical concepts clearly, and review work for quality, optimization, and adherence to standards.
