Description

*Must be able to travel to Cumming, Douglasville and Riverdale monthly*

Assist Physician with patient examination and treatment, responsible for patient histories, routine diagnostic procedures, as well as some clerical duties.

Responsibilities

→Facilitate patient care
→Preliminary work-up: history, chief complaint, visual acuity, eye pressure, pupil reactions, scope of vision, color vision and muscle movement.
→Manual refractions.
→Tonometry (Applanation, Tonopen).
→Diagnostic testing: Biometry, Topography, OCT, Visual Fields, Fundus Photos.
→Take dictation and document exam findings while physician is examining patient.
→Administer drops under physician supervision.
→Write out necessary prescriptions.
→Take and explain tests, procedures, treatments, and diagnoses to patients.
→Maintain and stock all exam rooms.
→Clean and maintain all instruments.
→Assist physician in minor office surgery.
→Return and answer patient phone calls as needed.

Requirements

→Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in an ophthalmic practice. Experience in cornea and cataract clinics preferred.
→Minimum of two (2) years’ experience performing ophthalmic procedures and diagnostic testing.
→Experience in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
→Reliability and dependability.
→Strong organizational skills.
→Excellent written and verbal communication skills
→Proficient in Outlook and Microsoft Office.
→Flexibility (may require some early mornings and evenings)
