Job Title: Occupational Therapy Department Graduate Assistant
Department: Occupational Therapy, School of Health Sciences
Student Employment Type: Graduate Assistant
Responsibilities:
  • Selected candidates will be assigned to one of the following primary roles, however with the expectation that the roles may shift based upon departmental needs over the course of the academic year:
    1. Support to students and faculty in the area of Anatomy & Kinesiology.
    2. Support to students and faculty in the area of Sensory Integration & Neurorehab.
    3. Support to students and faculty in the areas of Assistive Technology.
    4. Support to students and faculty in the areas of OT Assessment\Intervention in Children & Youth.
    5. Support to department with administrative duties and scholarly endeavors.
Qualifications:
  • Completed coursework in Occupational Therapy at 300 level or above.
  • Student must have reliable transportation to the North Haven Campus.
  • Strong ability to assume professional position of mentorship on behalf of undergraduate OT students. 
  • Expressed desire to actively partake in the teaching\learning process on behalf of student success &\or the pursuit of research and other scholarly endeavors. 
  • Demonstrated engagement in teaching\learning (ie.: tutoring) &\or scholarship is preferred.
  • Strong ability to complete faculty-assigned tasks given distant supervision in a timely fashion.
  • Lifting up to 20lbs as necessary (anatomy lab).
Hours of Position:
  • To be determined based on selected student schedule and department needs.
