About the Role
~2 min readThis role supports core accounting and financial reporting activities, including close, financial statement preparation, reconciliations, journal entries, and audit support. Responsibilities also include multi-entity consolidation, intercompany and foreign currency accounting, statutory reporting, and investment accounting. The role partners with the Controller and Finance team to ensure accurate, timely reporting, resolve accounting issues, maintain strong documentation, and support process improvements across a global environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including preparation of assigned close schedules, journal entries, reconciliations, supporting documentation, and financial reporting deliverables.
- Prepare financial statements, income statement, balance sheet, and cash-flow statement, and recurring financial reporting packages for review by the Controller, including supporting schedules, account analysis, variance explanations, and consolidation support.
- Own intercompany and consolidation accounting, including intercompany reconciliations, eliminations, cross-entity entries, multi-entity consolidation, and resolution of intercompany differences.
- Prepare foreign currency accounting entries and supporting schedules, including FX translation, remeasurement, and related reconciliations for applicable entities.
- Support statutory and multi-country accounting and reporting, including entity-level reporting schedules, consolidation support, local-provider information requests, and reconciliation of local reporting to the general ledger.
- Perform investment accounting activities, including preparation of investment entries, realized and unrealized gain/loss calculations, reconciliations, supporting schedules, and coordination of required source information.
- Prepare audit, tax, and compliance support schedules for assigned accounting areas, respond to information requests, maintain supporting documentation, and assist with resolution of accounting questions.
- Review work prepared by others, if applicable.
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 5-7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting, and audit support.
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP; IFRS knowledge preferred.
- Experience with ERP and financial reporting systems; Sage Intacct experience preferred.
- Experience working in a multi-entity, multi-currency, or global environment preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel; experience with accounting automation or reporting tools preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to research discrepancies, resolve accounting issues, and maintain accurate supporting documentation.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and take ownership of assigned accounting processes.
- Bring a “can-do” attitude, have a willingness to stretch up and down in role, take on additional responsibilities, and quickly establish credibility in new areas of work.
- Be self-directed and proactive, demonstrating strong ownership and accountability for responsibilities while applying an entrepreneurial mindset to identify opportunities, develop new approaches, and initiate action.
