Junior Piping / Mechanical Engineer

Job Purpose:
The Junior Piping / Mechanical Engineer will support engineering, design, construction, and commissioning activities for Oil & Gas projects. The role will assist senior engineers in piping and mechanical engineering activities while ensuring compliance with project specifications, applicable codes and standards, HSE requirements, and ADNOC/client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support preparation and review of piping layouts, plot plans, equipment layouts, P&IDs, isometrics, piping specifications, and material specifications.
• Assist in piping design activities including routing, line sizing, pipe support requirements, material selection, and piping interface coordination.
• Support mechanical engineering activities related to static and rotating equipment, including pumps, compressors, vessels, tanks, heat exchangers, and packaged equipment.
• Assist in preparation and review of equipment datasheets, technical specifications, material requisitions, and engineering calculations.
• Review vendor drawings and documents under the guidance of senior engineers and follow up on technical comments.
• Coordinate with Process, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Instrumentation, HSE, Construction, and other engineering disciplines.
• Assist in resolving piping and mechanical technical queries arising during engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction.
• Participate in 3D model reviews, design reviews, constructability reviews, and interdisciplinary coordination meetings.
• Support site inspections, piping installation, equipment installation, hydrotesting, reinstatement, mechanical completion, and punch-list activities.
• Assist with pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, including system walkdowns and mechanical completion verification.
• Support preparation and maintenance of engineering deliverable registers, technical documentation, reports, and action trackers.
• Ensure engineering activities comply with applicable ASME/API standards, ADNOC/client specifications, project procedures, QA/QC, and HSE requirements.
• Participate in structured technical training, mentoring, and competency-development programs as part of the UAE National development program.

Qualification & Experience:

• A bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering or equivalent from an accredited university with a minimum of three (3+) years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry including minimum two (2) years in GCC region.
