Position Summary

A Site Services Helper performs a variety of duties to assist in maintaining facilities and equipment, often under the direction of a supervisor. This role involves assisting with repairs, cleaning, and upkeep of buildings and equipment, as well as providing support for more skilled tasks.

Primary Responsibilities

·         Support the lead carpenter by executing fundamental tasks that aid in the construction, installation, and repair of structures and fixtures.

·         Collecting materials, maintaining cleanliness in work areas, and utilizing hand and power tools under supervision.

·         Assist with measuring, cutting, and shaping wood and other materials, and learn to perform layout tasks independently. Ensure work areas, machines, and equipment are cleaned to uphold a safe and efficient job site.

·         Select and transport the necessary tools, equipment, and materials for the day's tasks to the work area. Aid in setting up and relocating work areas as needed.

·         Demonstrate the ability to place and finish small amounts of concrete for housekeeping pads, stoops, sidewalks, etc.

·         Ensure the work area is consistently stocked with required materials and tools.

·         Assist in demolition tasks as needed to ensure safety.

·         Maintain cleanliness in the work area and restock supplies and materials as required.

·         Acquire skills in using appropriate hand and power tools to assist carpenters with measuring, cutting, plumbing, and other tasks.

Qualifications

·         1-year industrial construction experience preferred

·         Capability to stand, walk, bend, and lift weights up to 50 pounds.

·         Knowledge of hand tools and power tools.

·         Maintain vigilance regarding safety protocols and work quality.

·         Proficient in effective communication with supervisors and tradespeople.

·         Ensure a clean and orderly work environment.

·         Ability to Follow Instructions from supervisors
