Job Title - Director Indirect Tax
Reporting to - Head of GST
Key Responsibilities
- Compliance Lifecycle & Governance
- Reviewing and ensuring timely filing all monthly and annual GST returns.
- Reviewing and ensuring end to-end reconciliation processes, aligning GST General Ledgers (GL) with statutory returns, e-invoicing data, Purchase and Sales Register etc, to eliminate risk at source level
- Assisting in setting up robust internal controls and review mechanisms to continuously monitor and improve overall GST compliance and litigation.
- Litigation Management & Dispute Resolution
- Reviewing and ensuring timely replies to all notices, including GST Audit Notices, ASMT 10 scrutiny, and DRC 01 Show Cause Notices.
- Reviewing and ensuring filing of timely appeals before appellate authorities against DRC 07 or APL 04 orders.
- Evaluate ongoing litigations continuously to structure accurate contingent liability statements, keeping executive leadership strategically informed of financial exposures.
- Stakeholder Collaboration & External Liaisons
- Manage partnerships with SSC team, External tax consultants and legal counsels for timely reply & appeal filing, ensuring timely compliances.
- Coordinating with Internal and Statutory Auditor and providing the required information for quick closures.
- Strategic Business Enabler
- Drive proactive tax advisory services for internal business units, cross-functional stakeholders, customers, and vendors to resolve operational queries.
- Optimize the relevant GST related process frameworks to extract maximum, legitimate Input Tax Credit (ITC) advantages.
- Translate complex, evolving GST regulations into actionable business guidelines and prevent non-compliance.
- Others
- Execute high-value cross-functional initiatives and handle specialized tax assignments delegated by executive management from time to time.
Minimum qualifications:
- 5+ years’ post qualification experience in GST compliance and litigation preferably from a reputed industry / firm.
- Must have a CA degree
