As a Senior Associate Data Engineer, you will be joining the dedicated OpenDoor team. OpenDoor is one of WPP Media's flagship client partnerships, and this role sits at the centre of delivering the data infrastructure that powers performance-driven advertising insights and analytics for this high-profile account.
This role is an excellent opportunity for an early-career data professional with 0–3 years of experience to build deep technical expertise in advertising data engineering within a fast-paced, collaborative, and high-impact team environment.
You will play a meaningful role in building and maintaining the data pipelines, datasets, and reporting workflows that underpin our data solutions for OpenDoor. Working end-to-end on an AWS-native technology stack – including Amazon Redshift, Amazon S3 and dbt – you will contribute to a robust, scalable data platform designed to aggregate diverse advertising data sources into a single, unified view. Working closely with senior engineers, BI, and Data Excellence teams, you will help ensure our data solutions are consistently accurate, performant, and aligned to the evolving needs of the OpenDoor account.

~2 min read- →Build and maintain data pipelines using Adverity, dbt, and SQL within a fully AWS-native environment, supporting the ingestion, transformation, and modelling of OpenDoor's advertising and media datasets into a unified, reliable view for reporting and analytics.
- →Support the development and maintenance of datasets, transformation logic, and reporting workflows built on Amazon Redshift, ensuring data outputs are accurate, well-structured, and aligned to business and client requirements.
- →Work within the AWS ecosystem – including Amazon S3 and Amazon Redshift – following established data architecture standards and engineering best practices to contribute to scalable, cloud-native data solutions.
- →Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline issues across the stack, contributing to the performance, stability, and data integrity of OpenDoor's end-to-end advertising data workflows.
- →Partner with internal teams – including the BI, Data Excellence, Activation, Client Service, Planning teams to understand reporting requirements and translate them into well-structured, maintainable data workflows that meet the strategic needs of the OpenDoor account.
- →Develop expertise in WPP Media's internal tooling and advertising data landscape, building a strong working knowledge of digital marketing, media campaign data, and ad serving technologies as they relate to OpenDoor's business.
- →Actively seek and apply feedback from senior team members, demonstrating a growth mindset and a genuine commitment to delivering high-quality, reliable data solutions.
- →Contribute to a high-performing and collaborative team culture, supporting the broader Data, Technology and Analytics team in upholding the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and client impact.
- Solid foundational SQL skills for data manipulation, transformation, and analysis, with a good understanding of best practices and a desire to develop optimisation capabilities.
- Hands-on experience with data transformation tools such as dbt, data ingestion tools such as Adverity, or equivalent platforms.
- Working knowledge of AWS cloud data services, specifically Amazon Redshift, with exposure to related services such as Amazon S3.
- Understanding of data pipelines, data modelling concepts, and debugging techniques, with the ability to identify and resolve data quality issues effectively.
- Clear and confident communicator, able to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues across a cross-functional account team.
- Detail-oriented, reliable, and coachable – with the drive to deliver high-quality work and a genuine willingness to grow within a structured and supportive team environment.
- Experience working with advertising, marketing, or media campaign data, including familiarity with digital ad serving technologies or web analytics platforms.
- Basic understanding of query optimisation techniques within Amazon Redshift to improve pipeline performance and efficiency.
- Exposure to code review processes and version control tools (e.g. Git).
- Basic awareness of CI/CD practices for data pipelines within an AWS environment.
- Exposure to project management tools such as Jira or Confluence.
