2. National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers
3. Licensure, or eligibility for licensure, as a professional Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in West Virginia.
4. CNOR Certification.
5. BLS Certification required with additional Advanced Life Support training at the discretion of the department.
6. Department Specific: APRNs requesting to be privileged as First Assists in perioperative services will be required to complete an
ANOR approved CNOR Certificate program and obtain a passing grade on CNOR certification exam.
7. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) at the discretion of the department.
1. Acute care, surgical or orthopedic experience preferred.
1. Bachelor’s Degree as Physician Assistant, or Master’s Degree as Physician Assistant required.
2. Graduate of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant (PA) training program required.
3. Certification by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants required.
4. Must be licensed or eligible for licensure by the WV Board of Medicine.
6. BLS Certification required with additional Advanced Life Support training at the discretion of the department.
7. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) at the discretion of the department.

Berkeley Medical Center serves the community as a 195-bed non-profit acute care hospital. BMC offers full radiology services including MRI, PET, nuclear medicine and interventional radiology; a wound care center with two hyperbaric chambers, a NICU, a 20-bed ICU, oncology services, neurosurgery services (including a Mazor robot) and a Cardiac Cath Lab.
BMC recently expanded OR services by adding four new outpatient ORs and five new ORs in the main hospital to grow services in robotics, orthopedics, and vascular health.
