About the Role

~1 min read

The West Virginia University Health System, the state’s largest health system and largest private employer, comprises 18 hospitals throughout the state and bordering states. In addition, it includes five institutes, as well as providing management services for other local hospitals through affiliate agreements.

Whether you are caring for our patients at one of the critical access hospitals, community sites, regional or academic medical centers, we are all one WVU Health System.

Work Here. Thrive Here.

West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Pathology, Anatomy and Laboratory Medicine are seeking an academic board-certified or board-eligible pathologist for an open-rank faculty position with specialty expertise in liver transplant pathology and additional interest or expertise in gastrointestinal/hepatobiliary pathology and/or transplant pathology. The successful candidate will practice in Morgantown, West Virginia, and will join a collegial, subspecialized academic pathology department serving a large and growing health system.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a robust academic practice with expanding clinical programs, active multidisciplinary collaboration, and strong institutional support for subspecialty pathology. The successful candidate will participate in the diagnostic evaluation of liver transplant specimens and related hepatobiliary pathology, while also contributing to additional subspecialty service areas based on training, expertise, and departmental needs. The role is well suited for a pathologist seeking a clinically meaningful academic position with opportunities for teaching, program development, multidisciplinary engagement, and scholarly activity.
