About the Role

Performs a wide range of clerical duties in support of assigned patient care department as well as extensive monitoring function for all cardiac telemetry and hard-wire monitored patients. This position monitors a specified number of patients ordered pulse oximetry and capnography in a centralized location.

1. Completion of annual required education related to specialty accreditation as defined by accreditation standards.  Training may be completed through CBLs, trainings, In-services, and competency validation.

1. Manual dexterity used in operating standard office equipment.
2. Ability to sit for long periods of time.
3. Vision (corrected)/hearing within normal limits.
4. Ability to visually monitor several computer screens with multiple cardiac rhythms, pulse oximetry and capnography waveforms for sustained periods of time.

1. Standard clinical environment. 

1. Ability to Troubleshoots technology with biomedical engineering and clinical staff.
2. Ability to work as a cooperative, focused team player, take direction well, and have a positive attitude to work with the patients, nursing staff, and physicians.
3. Basic computer knowledge and ability to operate standard office software.
4. Knowledge of medical terminology.
5. Good verbal/writing and mathematical skills.
