Product Design Intern

We are looking for an enthusiastic intern to help support our operations, learn from our experts, and contribute to the future of music videos.

As a Design Intern, you will play a key role in our daily work while gaining practical experience across all stages of product design.

It’s our mission to share our passion for music videos with the world and invite people to experience music beyond listening: to see your music. XITE is dedicated to building the best music video experience in the world. Based in Amsterdam, XITE now reaches 100 million households across North America and Europe.

• FAST (Free Ad-Supported Streaming TV): This rapidly growing global market offers themed music channels directly on smart TVs. Across Europe and North America, XITE is available with 26 different genre- and decade-based channels.

• Interactive TV App: Available on smart TVs in various countries throughout Europe and North America, this app features over 200 curated playlists for a personalized viewing experience.

• Linear Television: This is where the brand began in 2008. It is available specifically in the Netherlands through all major Dutch cable and fiber providers.

• XITE Music: A comprehensive collection of 51 non-stop audio channels, available exclusively for listeners in the Netherlands.

  
  

At XITE, our design team is small but mighty. Consisting of a Head of Product Design and two Product Designers, we pride ourselves on being highly strategic and holistic thinkers. We focus heavily on the "why" and the "what" before diving into the "how." When you join us, you won't be working in a silo. We collaborate across all departments and work closely with the executive team to shape the entire product lifecycle. We are looking for an enthusiastic intern to help support our operations, learn from our experts, and contribute to the future of music videos.

As a Design Intern, you will play a key role in our daily work while gaining practical experience across all stages of product design. We are fully committed to supporting your education and will work with you to fulfill any academic requirements. Your responsibilities will include:

  Design Ops: Help maintain and scale our Figma libraries and ensure our Design System is cohesive and accessible across all departments.

  Research Ops: Support user research initiatives by handling participant recruitment, planning sessions, and managing outreach.

  Design thinking: Actively participate in planning and brainstorming co-design sessions, bringing fresh perspectives to the table.

  Designing for TV: Gain unique, hands-on experience designing user interfaces and experiences specifically for television platforms.

  Portfolio Project: By the end of your internship, you will take ownership of and lead one specific project from start to finish, giving you a powerful case study for your portfolio.

We are looking for someone who is eager to learn anything. A highly curious nature and the willingness to dive into areas, platforms, and challenges you haven't explored before. To succeed in this role, you should have:

• Student status: You must be currently enrolled in a university or educational institution in The Netherlands.

• Commute & availability: You will work 3 days per week in our office, therefore the role requires that commuting to Amsterdam is practically feasible for you.

• Language: Fluency in English (both written and spoken).

• Methodology & collaboration: You're comfortable with Design Thinking and standard design workflows, helping out on team projects from early research to wireframing.

• Design Tools: Solid working knowledge of Figma.

• UX Foundations: A foundational understanding of UX Research methodologies and why they matter.

• Forward-Thinking: An openness to exploring and integrating AI tools to streamline and enhance your design workflow.
