Swim Team Coach - Non-Certified, Pines Aquatic Center

Mission Advancement: Reinforces the Y’s values within the organization and the community. Effectively communicates the benefits and impact of the YMCA’s efforts for all stakeholders. Implements effective systems to develop volunteers at program and fundraising leadership levels.
Collaboration: Develops strategies to ensure staff and volunteers reflect the community. Builds and nurtures strategic relationships to enhance support for the YMCA. Communicates for influence to attain buy-in and support of goals. Provides tools and resources for the development of others.
Operational Effectiveness: Integrates multiple thinking processes to make decisions. Involves members and community in the development of programs and activities. Ensures execution of plans. • Strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively discipline, counsel, and evaluate job performance
• This position must ensure that all members have the opportunity to participate in high quality, mission driven programs in a safe aquatic environment
• Computer literate; working knowledge of Microsoft Office, e-mail and Internet
• Ability to work independently and utilize initiative, ability to be organized and to meet deadlines
• Good judgment and solid decision-making skills; strong oral and written communication skills; excellent customer service skills; and an attitude of professionalism and respect
• Ability to interact well with all levels of members, parents, staff, management, and YMCA Board of Directors
• Ability to handle occasional stressful conditions, react calmly in emergency situations, and work irregular hours
• Sensitivity to, understanding, and support of the YMCA mission and core values of caring, respect, honesty, and responsibility
• Coaching skills should include stroke analysis, familiarity with current coaching trends, use of video, dry land training and swimmer motivation
