Afternoon Preschool Teacher-part time

The Sun Prairie YMCA is looking for a professional, detailed oriented Early Childhood Assistant or Lead Teacher that is responsible for the daily operation of a designated licensed preschool child care program. This includes providing quality childcare, fostering achievement, encouraging belonging, acting as a positive role model for children and other staff, while developing and implementing thematic age appropriate activities.

• →Create fun and interactive learning experiences while serving as mentors to fellow teachers.
• →Ensure the daily care of every child by following all licensing guidelines and company standards.
• →Communicate directly with parents and prospective parents to achieve success for the child.
• →Create a supportive and uplifting work environment.
• →Facilitate socialization, participation and interaction of children through active involvement in safe, fun and developmentally appropriate activities
• →Provide adaptations based on individual needs and utilizes positive behavior guidance techniques
• →Lead or assist with developmentally appropriate program curriculum and coordinates supplies

• Required- Must be at least 18 years of age
• Required- High School diploma or equivalent (Associates Degree preferred)
• Required-Knowledge of general child growth and development, learning, and developmentally appropriate activities for children
• Requires ability to effectively interact with, lead, and motivate children who have a variety of abilities and needs.
• Related experience as a teacher in a licensed preschool or early childhood education center preferred.
