Part-Time, Up to 25 hours per week Location: Pearl Street Family YMCA, Tacoma, WA The YMCA is looking for an enthusiastic Teen Program Coordinator to help bring our youth programs to life.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent (preferred).
  • One to two years’ related experience as a coordinator of people or activities (preferred).
  • Ability to use computer and typical business software and office machines.
  • Positive attitude and previous experience with teens and diverse populations.
  • Demonstrated skills in customer service, public relations, organizational skills, communications, supervision, and file maintenance.
  • CPR, First Aid, AED certifications (preferred).
  • Must be able to pass Background and Reference checks (in accordance with the WA State Fair Chance Act).
  • Committed to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
  • Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day, and other online and in-person training as required.

Responsibilities

  • →Assist with planning and coordinating staff interviews, trainings, meetings, and teen events, including Late Nite programming.
  • →Develop engaging lesson plans, curriculum, and new program ideas to enhance the teen experience.
  • →Support the supervision, mentoring, recognition, and development of part-time instructors, volunteers, and program participants.
  • →Visit program sites to ensure quality, safety, engagement, and adherence to YMCA standards.
  • →Assist with managing teen behavior and fostering a positive, inclusive environment.
  • →Support staff and program evaluations, providing feedback and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • →Create and manage staff schedules, class rosters, and timekeeping to maintain staffing ratios and stay within budget.
  • →Monitor program budgets and recommend adjustments as needed.
  • →Serve as a primary point of contact for families by responding to questions and concerns through phone, email, and in-person communication.
