YVEA is hiring an experienced Journeyman Lineman to construct, maintain, and repair our transmission and distribution electrical system. This is a hands-on, safety-critical role for a skilled tradesperson who takes pride in quality workmanship and reliable service to the communities we power.

Responsibilities

→Build and maintain the transmission and distribution system - clearing right-of-way, digging pole and anchor holes, framing and setting poles and anchors, stringing and sagging conductors, and installing downguys
→Install and maintain underground equipment, cable, and specialty switches
→Install transformers, transformer banks, breakers, take-off assemblies, services, regulators, streetlights, meters, and lightning arresters on both energized and de-energized lines
→Maintain, test, and repair switching structures, substations, oil circuit breakers, oil circuit reclosers, sectionalizers, and transformers
→Patrol lines, read operations counters, and report conditions needing maintenance
→Perform voltage checks, load surveys, and load balancing
→Support meter technicians with C.T. and P.T. meter installations
→Respond to trouble calls on scheduled standby
→Maintain assigned vehicles, tools, and rubber goods in safe operating condition
→Complete required documentation - job briefings, staking sheets, switching orders, outage reports, and daily time/mileage logs
→Lead and oversee the performance and quality of work for crew members and apprentices

Strong working knowledge of electrical transmission and distribution systems
Experience with pole-line construction, underground equipment, and substation maintenance
Ability to work safely on energized and de-energized lines
Strong documentation and reporting habits
Willingness to perform scheduled standby duty
Leadership skills to guide crew members and apprentices
