Why You'll Love This Role

Are you a visionary risk professional ready to champion financial integrity and drive sustainable growth? As the Manager of Risk Management at Zeal Credit Union, you will provide strategic and operational leadership over our vital Risk Management and BSA functions. In this high-impact role, you will build and cultivate a proactive risk environment that protects our credit union, its members, and our reputation, while simultaneously supporting responsible growth and sound business decisions. Leading with a culture-first mindset, you will develop, coach, and empower a talented team, establish clear performance expectations, identify emerging market trends, and translate complex risk data into actionable recommendations for executive leadership.

Essential Functions

The Manager of Risk Management provides strategic and operational leadership for Zeal Credit Union's Risk Management and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) functions, aligning departmental priorities with organizational strategy, growth plans, and regulatory responsibilities. Serving as the designated BSA Officer, this role delivers comprehensive oversight for all BSA/AML/OFAC/CIP and USA PATRIOT Act programs, which includes managing annual risk assessments, continuously improving compliance policies, and ensuring the accurate, timely submission of CTRs, SARs, FinCEN 314(a)/314(b), and OFAC reporting. To safeguard the institution, the Manager develops robust fraud-prevention strategies and establishes consistent investigative frameworks to evaluate, document, and mitigate threats affecting Zeal, its members, or its business interests. This leadership position actively partners across all departments to embed risk considerations into new products, services, vendors, and strategic initiatives, while managing external relationships with law enforcement, auditors, and regulators. Operationally, the Manager coordinates responses to search warrants, oversees criminal investigations, and leads federal or state regulatory examinations from preparation through sustainable remediation. As a core member of Zeal's leadership team, the individual fosters organizational risk awareness through employee education, continuously optimizes workflows and monitoring technology to drive automation, and dedicates significant focus to leading, coaching, and building bench strength within the risk management team.
