Senior Data Engineer

We are looking for senior data engineers to join our team in Sarajevo. This is a full-time role within our long-term partnership with ICA, one of Scandinavia's biggest brands. Remote work is possible with occasional visits to the Sarajevo office. We are currently looking to fill 2 positions.

• Senior-level experience in data engineering
• Strong communication skills in the English language

• Seniority Level 3
• Proven experience in data engineering with hands-on exposure to file-based, API-based, and event-driven (Kafka) data ingestion patterns
• Strong experience using DBT for data transformation and creation of analytical data products
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining scalable data ingestion and transformation pipelines
• Strong understanding of analytical data modeling techniques (dimensional, denormalized, and domain-oriented models)
• Experience implementing and supporting CI/CD pipelines using GitHub and GitHub Actions
• Good understanding of Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Cloud Composer)
• Experience working with Kafka-based streaming ingestion
• Understanding of Data Mesh concepts, including domain-oriented data products and ownership
• Experience with Python and Java
• Experience working in Agile environments and Jira
• Fluent English communication skills

• DBT knowledge is a must-have requirement.
• Nice-to-have skills: Looker, Tableau, and Confluence.
• Project focuses on building a cloud-based data platform on Google Cloud Platform with file-based, API-based, and event-driven ingestion pipelines.
• The goal is to create reusable analytical data products aligned with Data Mesh principles.
• We can also consider strong Medior candidates if they have solid DBT experience.
