Design and Development Engineer

• Participate in the development of new projects from conceptual ideas to implementation.
• Generate 3D models, Assemblies, and 2D drawings, including defining and documenting manufacturing information.
• Conduct rigorous testing to validate and identify weaknesses with prototypes and make necessary improvements.
• Possess thorough knowledge of lightweight structures and load path analysis.
• Closely collaborate with internal and external departments to ensure accurate and timely manufacturing can occur.
• Communicate with engineers or defense personnel in order to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, or provide technical feedback.
• Consult with business development personnel and customers in the field for training and problem solving.
• Confer with government organizations on testing and documentational requirements.
• Ensure solutions meet functional safety and reliability requirements.
• Develop full knowledge of our in-house product lines.
• Be a role model for the mindsets and behaviors necessary to create an environment of trust, participation, and accountability.
• Mentor and advise the Junior Engineers in the department.

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in motorsports, military, or the automotive industry is required.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 would be helpful.

• NX CAD or related design software experience needed.
• Requires Ansys or related FEA software experience, as well as Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
