JOB OVERVIEW Job Id: H-MD-135859 Profession: Physician Specialty: Emergency Medicine Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Laredo, Texas Coverage Period: Oct 03, 2026 – Ongoing Shift Schedule: 12‑hour shifts Hours Per Shift: 12 Reason for Coverage: Coverage Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered PATIENT INFORMATION Average Daily Volume: 67 patients per day Case Mix: Includes trauma, cardiac, pediatric (transfers), and general ED cases FACILITY NFOMATION< >No. of Beds in Department: 13 ED beds (8 regular, 2 negative pressure, 2 trauma, 1 cardia) Trauma Level: Level III EMR System: Cerner >Specialty Backup Available: Cath Lab, CT Scan, ICU, MRI, Physical Therapy, Behavioral Management/Psychiatry, OB/GYN, Neurosurgery, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Urology, Trauma >Support Staff Available: APPs and nursing staff per ED protocols PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes (cross‑credentialing at DHL Saunders, DHL South, & Wright Ranch) >JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: BC/BE in Emergency Medicine (ABEM), Family Medicine (ABFM), or Internal Medicine (ABIM) Licenses: Active Texas Medical License required; DEA may be in process DEA / CDS: Active DEA required (may be in process) Certifications: ATLS, ACLS, PALS required Other Qualifications: Clean medical record required; must be eligible for cross‑credentialing DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide 12‑hour shift coverage for 24‑hour physician staffing at a Level III Trauma Center Manage 13 ED beds, including regular, negative pressure, trauma, and cardiac rooms Work collaboratively with APPs providing 20 hours of coverage per da Coordinate transfers for complex pediatric cases to higher‑level centers Perform standard Emergency Medicine procedures and ensure compliance with facility protocols
