We are seeking a dedicated Children’s Services Licensing Specialist/Supervisor to oversee and manage our childcare background check team.

This position requires strong leadership, decision-making capabilities, and excellent communication skills to ensure the integrity and efficiency of our childcare background check processes.

The Children’s Services Licensing Specialist/Supervisor:

Performs supervisory duties for the child care background check team, completes the day-to-day work when there are staff vacancies,
Makes decisions about the policy and procedures regarding background checks,
Follows administrative procedures to determine the eligibility and ineligibility of prospective child care employees,
Ensures the fingerprint based background check renewal process is occurring as required by the Child Care Development Fund,
Collects data and generates reports regarding the issuance of employment determinations,
Represents the Department at all contested ineligibility determination administrative hearings,
Interacts with licensees, applicants, general public, and others regarding statutory and regulatory background check requirements through presentations, emails and phone.
