Assistant Professor of Musicology

The School of Music at California State University, Fullerton, invites applications for a tenure track assistant professor position in musicology with an appointment to begin Fall 2027. 

• →Ph.D. in musicology.
• →Demonstrated teaching effectiveness (for example, via course syllabi, student and peer evaluations, and other evidence).
• →Successful college- or university-level music history teaching experience as instructor of record.
• →Peer-reviewed publication history indicative of strong potential for tenure and promotion.
• →Experience in and commitment to teaching and/or mentoring members of historically underrepresented groups in higher education.

• Teaching and research experience engaging diverse musical traditions, including global, popular, and historically grounded repertoires.
• Demonstrated familiarity with emerging musicological research and teaching methods.
• Demonstrated experience working with diverse student populations and fostering a collaborative and supportive classroom environment.
• Interested in and/or experienced with teaching large general education music courses.
• Interested in and/or experienced with online instruction, in addition to in-person instruction.
