ADM Railcar Repair Facility Purchasing/Inventory - Cedar Rapids, IA

This position is responsible for purchasing and maintaining an adequate inventory needed to repair cars in the shop and handle all shipping and receiving for the facility. This person will also manage and maintain the safety valve rebuilding area.

Responsibilities:

• Communication skills with management, vendors, truck lines, railroads and corporate office.
• Understanding Express Yard and bar coding programs.
• Research various vendors for the best pricing and lead time.
• Communicate with outside locations with purchasing changes.
• Inspect inventory received in and apply proper marking as required.
• Maintain and code monthly invoices in a timely manner.
• Maintain and submit parts to vendor to be reconditioned.
• Tracking of all outgoing inventory and delivering to designated area.
• Record and document all wheel readings outgoing for reconditioning.
• Maintain truck gauges and perform daily calibration of torque wrenches.
• Must pass all safety training that is required.
• Loading and unloading of trucks.
• Maintain the parts room in a clean and orderly fashion.
• Ensure parts are entered into Express Yard to the proper repair order number.
• Submit outgoing inventory to the corporate office on a daily basis.
• Perform various job tasks as needed.
• Generate purchase orders.

Job Requirements:

• Experience managing inventory, purchasing, receiving, invoicing tasks
• General knowledge of Maximo
• General knowledge of Express yard
• General knowledge of the Field Manual of the AAR Interchange Rules
• Require excellent command of the following: leadership, problem solving, self-motivation, organizational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel and Outlook)
• Must have confident and courteous manner
• Must have established leadership skills
• Must have a strong commitment to employee safety
• Must be able to hear and speak clearly, read, comprehend and communicate orally and in writing
• Position requires standing and walking for long periods, climbing stairs and ladders, working with tools, working within close-confined spaces, and working within extreme temperatures

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
