About the Role

Are you passionate about delivering exceptional care in a dynamic, fast-paced environment? As a Medical Officer (Junior Doctor, Trainee or Registrar), you’ll play a vital role in ensuring safe, high-quality clinical services for our patients. With a supportive team environment, Medical Officers benefit from consultant expertise on-site for 16 hours daily and available on-call overnight. Through CALHN you’ll also have the opportunity to pursue the internationally recognised ACEM Associate Training Program via the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine. Whether at the RAH or QEH, this is your chance to make a tangible impact while building a rewarding career in emergency care.

At the Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH), you will work at the state’s largest teaching hospital and major trauma centre, treating over 1,700 trauma patients annually—25% with serious injuries. As one of the busiest trauma centres in the southern hemisphere, the RAH serves a vast catchment area that includes all of South Australia and parts of neighbouring states. Eligible trainees will gain invaluable experience through rotations in the renowned Trauma Service, with opportunities to further specialise in the cutting-edge field of Toxicology.

At The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH), located just minutes from Adelaide’s CBD, you’ll practise in a state-of-the-art emergency department that manages a diverse case mix of acute, paediatric, and gynaecological presentations.
