Interested in making your mark at a 100% employee-owned architecture and engineering firm? Wiley|Wilson has 180+ employee-owners serving clients from five locations, and we are looking for the right person to grow with us!

We are seeking a Senior Technology Systems Designer to join our team. In this role, you will lead the design and delivery of telecommunications and structured cabling, audiovisual, and electronic security systems for a variety of building projects. You will work directly with clients and multidisciplinary project teams, provide technical expertise throughout the design process, and help mentor and develop less-experienced members of our Technology Systems team.

What We Offer: We offer a competitive salary along with employee ownership through our ESOP program and work-from-home flexibility with details provided upon inquiry. Our generous benefits package includes multiple group health insurance options, a 401(k) with up to 6% matching contribution, 24 days of paid time off (PTO), five paid holidays per year, tuition reimbursement, parental leave, and many other perks.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone with 8+ years of experience designing Technology Systems for buildings, including telecommunications and structured cabling, audiovisual, and electronic security systems. Experience working in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry is required.

Candidates should be proficient in Autodesk Revit, including model setup, linking, navigation, troubleshooting, and developing Technology Systems designs through completion. A BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification is required. AVIXA CTS certification is a plus.

This senior role requires demonstrated experience leading projects, managing complex projects, overseeing junior team members day to day activities, coordinating directly with clients and other design disciplines, and mentoring less-experienced staff. Strong communication, collaboration, organization, and time-management skills are important, as is the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered. Federal government project experience is a plus. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States and obtain a security clearance.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the design of telecommunications and structured cabling, audiovisual, and electronic security systems
  • Develop and oversee Revit models, system layouts, specifications, and construction documents
  • Coordinate Technology Systems designs with clients, architects, engineers, and other project disciplines
  • Attend client and project meetings to coordinate scope, requirements, and design
  • Mentor junior staff, assign design tasks, and provide technical guidance throughout project delivery
  • Help ensure projects meet Wiley|Wilson quality standards while maintaining schedules and budgets

Why Wiley|Wilson? As a 100% employee-owned company, we offer a unique opportunity to grow your career while sharing in the success of the firm through our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). Our focus on professional development, diverse project portfolio, and collaborative environment make Wiley|Wilson an exciting place to work.

About Wiley|Wilson: Wiley|Wilson is a full-service architecture-engineering firm specializing in innovative and functional design solutions for government, institutional, and private-sector clients worldwide. We have offices in Alexandria, Lynchburg, and Richmond, VA; Raleigh, NC; and Atlanta, GA.
