MarketingMarketing Director

Our client sells planned home services to manufactured home owners. Most of them are retirees living in higher end communities. Their direct mail and magazine marketing already earns returns well above industry benchmarks. We are seeking a Director of Marketing to protect that engine and build a professional online presence on top of it, through a website, social media, video and email. You’ll report to the General Business Manager and work directly with the CEO. You’ll own the plan, run the experiments and prove what works across four regions, on a lean budget that grows as results come in.

  • →Marketing Strategy & Experiments: Deliver a focused 12 month marketing plan with clear priorities. Run a steady cycle of experiments and report what worked, what didn’t and why, all while holding marketing to a strict all in cost target.
  • →Direct Mail & Print Advertising: Manage postcards, magazine ads and 11 week mailing cycles. Target the right communities within the manufactured housing niche, replace long running ads with rapid creative variations and A/B tests, and respond quickly to events like storms or earthquakes.
  • →Website, Social Media & Reviews: Lead a website refresh in early 2027, evaluate trade specific website vendors and manage developers. Launch social media with video, photos and short posts suited to the audience, and build on a strong Google review base.
  • →Customer Education & Email: Produce short educational videos on why maintenance and repairs matter. Launch a monthly newsletter and activate a 10 year email list that has never been used.
  • →Repeat Revenue & Regional Growth: Run campaigns for past customers, who drive 30 to 40% of sales, and market new monthly protection, warranty and membership plans. Build regional playbooks and test whether a win in one region can be repeated in another.
  • →Analytics, Vendors & Team Building: Work with the Sales Operations Analyst to track cost per lead, cost per sale and ROI by channel, region and community. Explain why results moved and recommend where the next dollar should go. Manage designers, printers and magazines, and grow a small in house team as results justify it.
  • Director level or senior marketing leadership experience, including ownership of a plan and a number.
  • A hands on builder who personally launches and measures campaigns.
  • Direct response marketing experience, including direct mail.
  • Strong working use of AI tools for content, design and analysis.
  • Startup or lean budget experience.
  • Working knowledge of ROI measurement, attribution and A/B testing.
  • Practical skills in social media, video, email platforms and website management.
  • Excellent written and verbal English, with a habit of clear, proactive reporting.
  • Ability to work U.S. Pacific Time hours, starting with daily stand ups and moving toward independence.
  • A reliable internet connection and a dedicated home workspace.

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience in construction, home services or the service industry in general.
  • Experience with warranty, membership or subscription style offers.
  • Experience marketing to older homeowners.
  • Design skills in Canva or Adobe for quick ad variations.
  • Strong analytics and data skills. These will move you to the top of the list.
  • CRM familiarity and a data hygiene mindset.
  • Early: You audit current campaigns, learn the business and the niche, and deliver the marketing plan.
  • Midway: The new website, social media, video and newsletter are live, and the first experiments are reported.
  • Ongoing: Direct mail returns hold steady, new channels add measurable leads and repeat customer sales grow.
  • Problem solving: You dig into issues, weigh the options, and land on practical solutions.
  • Teamwork: You work well with others and pitch in wherever the team needs support.
  • Sound judgment: You use good judgment and know when to act and when to ask.
  • Planning & organizing: You plan ahead, stay organized, and keep track of the details.
  • Professionalism: You represent the team and company well in every interaction.
  • Quality focus: You take pride in accurate, well done work.
  • Dependability: You show up, follow through, and can be counted on.
  • Ethics: You act with integrity and honesty in everything you do.
