Warehouse Supervisor
Quick Summary
dispatch on schedule, housekeeping done, forklifts running safely- A team you shape - you train them,
- Prior warehouse supervisory experience- Strong daily planning skills and the ability to coordinate a small team under time pressureAdvantage:- A forklift licence,
Every order that leaves our warehouse on time starts with your plan. As Warehouse Supervisor, you set up the day each morning - who's on Team A, who's on Team B, which forklifts go where - and then you make it happen on the floor. You report to the Head of Warehouse and you own the day's execution, start to finish.
WHAT THE JOB ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE
Plan the day
- Split the casual team into Team A and Team B and set the forklift schedule each morning, based on order volume
Run the floor
- Supervise receiving, picking, staging and loading so every dispatch goes out on schedule
- Keep bin and location labels accurate and coordinate stock moves with the Inventory Controller
Keep it safe and tidy
- Enforce the daily housekeeping checklist and forklift pre- and post-shift checks
- Escalate damages, discrepancies, near-misses and safety issues to the Head of Warehouse
Lead the team
- Manage casual staff performance and attendance
- Run basic training, including forklift cross-training and safety
Count the stock
- Schedule and supervise the physical count for weekly cycle counts and the monthly full stocktake
This is an execution role. You own the floor and the dispatch deadline - not the stock numbers. You'll run the count, but someone else verifies it, and when something doesn't add up, you flag it rather than fix it yourself. If you like a clear daily target, a small team to lead and the pressure of getting it out the door on time, you'll do well here. If you want to own inventory accuracy, this isn't that job.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
Must have:
- Prior warehouse supervisory experience
- Strong daily planning skills and the ability to coordinate a small team under time pressure
Advantage:
- A forklift licence, or willingness to get one - it helps you plan operator rotation
- Should reside within a 15 minute reliable commute of the warehouse to respond to urgent operational needs and building security/alarm pages
WHAT YOU GET
- Ownership of the daily operation - the plan is yours, from the morning split to the final load
- A clear scoreboard: dispatch on schedule, housekeeping done, forklifts running safely
- A team you shape - you train them, cross-skill them and set the standard
