Through the battles and the breakthroughs, we're there. Where will you be?

For over a century, our incredible teams have provided care for people when they need it most. Our people feel great pride in this, and they value the security and stability we offer. But it also means so much opportunity - to build on all that’s gone before, to grow your impact and gain experience that’s hard to find elsewhere.

As a for-purpose organisation with over 10,000 dedicated, compassionate people, we continue to offer more services and deeper care than ever before. With Mercy, you’ll have the chance to make an impact and gain experience that’s hard to find elsewhere.

About the Role

At Mercy Hospital for Women, the health and well-being of our patients is our top priority. We are a major public hospital and specialist referral centre with the medical, nursing, midwifery and allied health expertise to provide complex care for obstetric, neonatal and gynaecological needs. As a nurse in our hospital, you will have the opportunity to provide exceptional care to patients in many speciality areas.

  • Ward 6 is a dynamic and rewarding clinical area caring for women requiring gynaecological, oncology, and high-dependency nursing care
  • Joining our team offers a unique opportunity to work in a highly specialised environment where you can broaden your clinical expertise while making a meaningful difference to the lives of women and their families
  • This role provides opportunities to develop advanced assessment skills, enhance your specialty knowledge, and contribute to improving patient outcomes in a leading women's health service
  • Whether you are an experienced nurse seeking your next challenge or looking to further develop your skills within a specialist service, Ward 6 offers a welcoming and supportive environment to grow your career

You are resilient, compassionate and committed to providing exceptional care. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy working as part of a highly skilled and supportive team.

  • Recent experience in medical and/or surgical nursing (essential)
  • Recent experience in High Dependency Unit (HDU) nursing (desirable)
  • Recent experience in gynaecology nursing (highly desirable)
  • Postgraduate qualification in Cancer Nursing (highly desirable)
  • Current competency in chemotherapy administration or a commitment to complete this competency (highly desirable)
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • The ability to prioritise workload and work effectively under pressure in a complex clinical environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to collaborative, patient-centred care

If you are passionate about delivering excellent care to women and are looking to further develop your skills within a specialised oncology, surgical and high-acuity setting, we would love to hear from you.

  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
  • A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check
  • Evidence of current influenza vaccination and other immunisation requirements in accordance with public health directives
