SEAS Recreation Assistant - Boys Basketball

Seasonal (SEAS) Position

Definition

An individual who is responsible for the safety and well-being of participants in a recreational activity. The Recreation Assistant will instruct activities in accordance with the policies and guidelines set by the Recreation Division.

Recreation Assistants will aid in the operations of boys basketball programs. Assistants will supervise drills, help participants improve their skills, manage a team during games, and contribute to game operations. Session plans will be provided and supervised by the Program Coordinator.

Program Dates and Locations:

Kindergarten - Grade 3 at the Hyannis Youth & Community Center. Saturdays, December 5, 2026 - February 27, 2027, from 11:00am-3:00pm. (No program on 12/26, 1/2, 2/13)

Grades 4 & 5 at Barnstable United Elementary School. Tuesdays and Thursdays, December 1, 2026 -February 25, 2027, from 2:30-4:30pm. (No program on 12/22, 12/24, 12/29, 12/31, 2/16, 2/18)

Grades 6 - 8 at Barnstable Intermediate School. Wednesdays, December 2, 2026 - March 3, 2027, from 6:00-7:30pm. (No program on 12/23, 12/30, 1/13, 2/3, 2/17)

Minimum Qualifications

Must be age 14+.

Intermediate knowledge of basketball.

Ability to be a positive role model for the participants.
