Technical Consultant - Production and Architecture

Build the reliability, performance and resilience of mission-critical financial platforms used by leading institutions worldwide.

You will join the Production and Architecture Consulting (PAC) team within Client Services. The team works with clients across Europe, the Middle East and Africa to assess, operate and improve MX.3 production environments through technical guidance, production architecture reviews and reliability improvement plans.

Working at the intersection of reliability, production support and technical architecture, the team helps clients investigate complex production problems, identify reliability risks and improve the availability, performance, security and resilience of business-critical platforms. You will work closely with clients and collaborate with Murex development teams to deliver effective solutions.

• Act as the main technical advisor for assigned clients, understand their production environments and priorities, build strong relationships, and coordinate the right expertise to deliver reliable solutions.
• Take ownership of complex production problems from investigation to resolution, identify root causes, coordinate the right stakeholders, keep clients informed, and help prevent similar issues from happening again.
• Contribute to on-site and remote production architecture reviews to assess the health of MX.3 environments, identify reliability risks and agree on prioritized improvement plans with clients.
• Represent clients within Murex by sharing their priorities, working with the development teams, and following up on product fixes and improvements.
• Perform infrastructure sizing and capacity planning to support workload growth, operational efficiency, and effective testing.·       Support the design of disaster recovery strategies and production resilience measures.
• Help implement platform security requirements, including encryption of data in transit and at rest.
• Contribute to monitoring, alerting and observability initiatives, including dashboards based on APM and infrastructure monitoring solutions.
• Stay informed about market trends, emerging technologies and evolving technical requirements across the financial services industry.
• Develop internal tools that automate recurring operational tasks and accelerate problem investigation and performance analysis.

• Master's degree or Engineering degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Telecommunications or a related technical discipline.
• 1 to 3 years of professional experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, production support, cloud operations, infrastructure engineering, software engineering.
• Applications from recent graduates with strong, relevant internship experience may also be considered.

• Strong working knowledge of Linux / Unix environments and Bash scripting.
• Experience with at least one scripting or programming language such as Python, Bash, Go, Java or C.
• Understanding of SQL, databases and performance analysis; exposure to Oracle, Sybase, Microsoft SQL Server or PostgreSQL is an advantage.
• Familiarity with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Understanding of CI/CD concepts, exposure to containers and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk or equivalent APM solutions.
• Familiarity with networking fundamentals and distributed systems.·  Exposure to Java diagnostics, profiling, thread dumps, heap dumps or garbage collection analysis is an advantage.
• Familiarity with performance testing tools is a plus.
