Postdoctoral Research Associate

The candidate should have strong problem-solving skills and be highly motivated. The candidate must have a Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, structural biology or a closely-related field.

Previous experience with molecular biology techniques (Western blots, qPCR/RNAseq), experience with gene editing(CRISPR), and DNA manipulation, are all preferred.

The candidate should have hands-on experience with metabolomics samples preparation and measurement by LC/MS or GC/MS.

A demonstrated proficiency in protein chemistry and protein biophysical analysis are also preferred. Prior experience with native or intact mass spectrometry is not required but would be valuable should it exist.

A willingness to learn advanced metabolomics and proteomics techniques to uncover cellular metabolic regulation will be needed.

Technical expertise in modern chromatography methodologies and techniques, good computer skills and data analysis experience are all desirable.

The best candidates will have excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.

The level and mixture of the duties may vary by position but typically include a combination of the following responsibilities.

• →Assist in initiating, executing, and completing research and experiments.
• →Prepare and write research papers, presentations, grant proposals, etc.
• →Assist in laboratory management.
• →Help train students.

The initial appointment is for two years, with the potential for extension depending on regular progress evaluation and continuation of funding.
