Whether you prefer at-home veterinary care or our fully equipped hospital, our veterinarians provide the latest in pet health care, including wellness care, vaccines, dental care, and surgery. We also offer digital X-rays, in-house laboratory services, and ultrasound diagnostic care.

SmartVet Veterinary Services is looking for a Mobile Associate Veterinarian to join our team in Normal, Illinois! As a Mobile Veterinarian with SmartVet, you’ll have the opportunity to develop lasting client relationships while caring for pets in a more relaxed environment. Your days may include wellness and preventative care, minor illnesses, chronic disease management, quality-of-life discussions, and other outpatient services appropriate for a mobile setting.

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree
• Ability to obtain or maintain an Illinois veterinary license
• Strong communication and client-service skills
• Confidence practicing independently in a mobile environment

• →Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
• →Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
• →Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
• →Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
• →Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
• →Maintain patients’ medical records.
• →Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.

• DVM/VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
• Appropriate state licensure.

• Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
• Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.
