Seeking a candidate with a passion to improve the health of the community in an outpatient/retail setting for people often presenting with barriers to receiving or understanding health care. Must thrive in a fast-paced environment and work well with a large pharmacy team (staff of 25+). Preference given to those with experience with any of the following: independent pharmacy practice, 340B program, custom medication packaging, immunizations, and mental health medications.

✓Accept, validate, interpret and process prescription orders.

✓Initiate and complete calls with providers regarding appropriate drug therapy.

✓Answer questions and provide information to pharmacy customers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage, storage of pharmaceuticals.

✓Verify technician’s preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals, order entries, charges, and inspections.

✓Maintain established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste drugs.

✓Ensure pharmacy is compliant with best practices for 340B pharmacies.

✓Completes pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and directing technicians’ work flow; verifying their preparation and labeling of pharmaceutical; verifying order entries, charges, and inspections.

✓Responsible for Formulary Management – including Therapeutic Interchange or Substitution, and Coverage Review Programs.
