The opportunity

World Wide Technology (WWT) is looking for an exceptional Program Director to lead one of the largest and most complex AI infrastructure programs underway in Australia.

WWT is at the centre of a multi-year AI Factory build program involving the deployment and operationalisation of a significant pipeline of high-density GPU clusters across multiple data centres and locations. The program brings together some of the world’s leading technology companies across compute, networking, data centre infrastructure and AI, with multiple deployments progressing in parallel.

This is a major strategic program for WWT and our customer, with significant investment, executive visibility and aggressive speed-to-market requirements.

We need a senior leader with the experience, credibility and presence to take ownership of a program of this scale and complexity and make sure the entire ecosystem executes as one team.

This is not a traditional PMO role. We are looking for someone who has operated at significant scale and can lead confidently across executives, technical teams, delivery organisations and global technology partners.

The role

The Program Director will own the overall execution of the AI Factory program, working across WWT Sales, Engineering, Services, Supply Chain and Delivery, as well as the customer and our strategic technology partners.

The primary responsibility is to ensure each AI cluster is designed, integrated, deployed, tested and operationalised on time and on budget.

At the centre of the role will be the creation and ownership of a single integrated program plan spanning all parties. You will establish the critical path, dependencies, milestones, risks and accountabilities across the full program and hold WWT teams, vendors and customer stakeholders accountable to it.

You will provide a clear view of the program from executive level through to individual deployments and ensure risks are identified and resolved before they impact delivery.

Key responsibilities

  • Own the overall program across a large pipeline of AI Factory deployments running in parallel.
  • Create and maintain the single integrated program plan across WWT, the customer, OEMs, data centre providers, contractors and other partners.
  • Establish clear milestones, dependencies, owners and critical paths across every deployment.
  • Hold all parties accountable to agreed dates, commitments and outcomes.
  • Partner closely with WWT Sales and Delivery leadership to translate commercial commitments into executable delivery plans.
  • Drive the deployment and operationalisation of high-density GPU infrastructure across multiple data centres.
  • Maintain executive-level visibility of schedule, budget, risks, dependencies and key decisions.
  • Identify issues early, drive escalation where required and lead teams through resolution.
  • Establish strong program governance, including executive SteerCos, operating cadences, decision frameworks and change control.
  • Ensure customer target dates, data centre readiness, OEM hardware availability, integration, deployment and testing plans are fully aligned.
  • Coordinate across global OEMs and technology partners to manage supply chain, lead times and delivery dependencies.
  • Drive alignment between infrastructure deployment, testing, platform readiness and customer handover.
  • Work with commercial and finance teams to ensure delivery milestones remain aligned to contractual and financial commitments.
  • Continually look for opportunities to compress timelines without compromising quality, safety or delivery risk.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior customer executives and act as one of WWT’s primary leadership interfaces for the program.
  • Provide clear, concise executive reporting to the customer and WWT leadership.
What we’re looking for

We are looking for someone who has operated at significant scale and can lead confidently across complex, high-profile infrastructure programs.

You will likely have:

  • Extensive experience leading large, complex infrastructure, data centre, cloud or technology transformation programs.
  • A track record overseeing programs with significant capital investment, multiple workstreams and complex commercial dependencies.
  • Experience managing multiple deployments, sites or major workstreams simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of data centre and infrastructure delivery. Experience with AI infrastructure, GPU environments or large-scale compute platforms would be highly regarded.
  • Experience coordinating major OEMs, systems integrators, contractors and customer teams within one delivery model.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and run integrated program plans across multiple organisations.
  • Strong commercial awareness and an ability to balance customer outcomes, delivery risk and financial commitments.
  • The confidence to challenge assumptions, escalate issues and hold senior stakeholders accountable.
  • Excellent executive communication skills and the ability to simplify highly complex programs into clear decisions and actions.
  • Strong judgement under pressure and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving environment where timelines and priorities can change quickly.
Most importantly, you will have a bias for execution. You will be comfortable taking ownership of ambiguity, bringing structure to complexity and driving large teams toward a common outcome.

Why WWT

WWT is a global technology solutions provider with deep expertise across AI, infrastructure, cloud, networking, cybersecurity and professional services.

Our ability to bring together strategy, architecture, technology, integration and delivery at scale puts WWT in a unique position as customers build the next generation of AI infrastructure.

WWT’s Advanced Technology Center and global Integration Centers allow customers and partners to design, test, integrate and validate complex technology environments before they reach production, reducing deployment risk and accelerating time to value.

In Australia and New Zealand, WWT is growing rapidly and is at the centre of some of the region’s most significant technology and AI infrastructure programs.

This role represents a rare opportunity to lead a program at the forefront of that growth - working with global technology leaders and helping deliver one of the largest infrastructure programs ever undertaken in Australia.
