Purchase goods, materials, and services the meet or exceed the expectations of the organization, considering price, quality, and delivery.

• →Purchase goods, materials, and services that meet or exceed the cost, quality, and delivery targets.
• →Request and evaluate supplier quotations.
• →Perform cost analysis on good purchased through should cost, competitive bid, and/or cost breakdown analysis.
• →Generate purchase orders that comply with company requirements. 
• →Communicate and work to mitigate any supply problems which may impact our business operations.
• →Act as the interface between suppliers and other departments at Gentex.
• →Identify risks and drive solutions to mitigate risks and escalate when needed.
• →Monitor market trends and drive favorable actions for Gentex.
• →Develop and implement cost reductions to ensure favorable PPV targets are achieved.
• →Manage supplier relationships and ensure two-way professional relationships exist.
• →Monitor supplier performance, provide feedback, and drive improvement actions with suppliers.
• →Identify and assess new suppliers that can meet the cost, quality, and delivery expectations for Gentex.
• →Other duties as assigned.

• Knowledge of purchasing systems and procedures.
• Practice good communication, negotiation, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
• Planning, negotiations, and contract management experience.
• Practice technical knowledge of Purchasing and ERP systems.
• Able to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
• Able to work well under pressure and handle emergency and stressful situations well.
• Manage and maintain required documentation.
• Develop strong supplier relationships.
• Practice good project management skills.
• Maintaining high level of honesty, integrity and confidentiality with respect to company matters. 
• Complying with all Company policies and procedures, safety regulations, company safety policies and safely perform all duties, including but not limited to, promoting a safe workplace.

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 5 - 10 years professional experience.
• 3 - 5 years of purchasing experience.
• 1-3 years of experience purchasing from international suppliers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• English fluent, and other language is a plus.

• Requires a person who is self-motivated.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
• Oracle software experience.
• Willingness to travel 20% of the time. 
• Commodity specific experience and knowledge.
• Automotive industry experience.
