About the Role
~1 min readThe Senior Product Owner owns a product area and its scrum team end to end, acting as both product manager and product owner: from understanding the shop owner's problem, to shaping the solution, to launching it and proving it was adopted. You report to our Director of Product, work alongside our Product Owner, and partner with engineering, marketing, sales, onboarding, and client success.
This role is for an experienced product person who can jump in and own outcomes in the first 90 days, with a path to Product Manager or Product Lead. You use AI tools (Claude, Claude Design) as your normal way of working: drafting stories and specs, prototyping UX, synthesizing customer feedback, and producing launch content.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- Own outcomes for your product areas: define the problem, success metrics, and the bar for done.
- Partner with the Director of Product on the roadmap; bring a point of view on priorities backed by customer and usage data.
- Assess ROI on new features and say "not now" or "no" when the business case is not there.
- Work directly with shops on design and planning sessions, betas, and feedback. Combine that with input from sales and client success, and turn it into epics and stories the team can build.
- Own your scrum team and its backlog: refinement, sprint priorities, acceptance.
- Own launch plans for your features, coordinating with marketing, sales, onboarding, and client success.
- Write release notes, positioning, and enablement content in plain language for internal and customer audiences.
- Train sales and client success on what shipped and how to sell and support it. Represent the product in webinars, social videos, and at trade shows.
- Track adoption after launch and act on what the data shows.
- Contribute competitive intelligence on the marketing, CRM, and website platforms our shops compare us to.
- Use Claude and Claude Design daily for wireframes, prototypes, specs, stories, research synthesis, and launch content.
- Build and share repeatable AI workflows, prompts, and templates the product team can reuse.
- Help set how the product team works as we modernize the platform: what we automate, how we review AI output, and where human judgment stays in the loop.
- Design is part of everyone's day-to-day on our product team. Produce wireframes and clickable prototypes in Claude Design using our Material-based design system, to align stakeholders and validate ideas with customers before engineering starts.
- Hold the bar on usability for shop owners and their staff who are busy and not technical.
- 5+ years as a Product Owner or Product Manager on a B2B SaaS product, including owning a scrum team's backlog, with features you can show from discovery through launch and adoption.
- Strong knowledge of digital marketing and of marketing, CRM, or website platforms, ideally from a company that builds them (martech, local marketing, website builders, customer engagement). This matters more to us than automotive experience.
- Hands-on GTM experience: you have owned a launch, written the release content, and trained sales or support.
- A UX or design foundation: you can wireframe and prototype, you have worked within a design system or component library (Material or similar), and you have examples to share.
- Daily, practical use of AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Design, Figma AI, or similar) in your product work. Bring examples of workflows you built.
- Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum and tools like Jira and Confluence.
- Clear, concise writing and confident presenting to customers, executives, and sales teams.
- Comfort using data (product analytics, CRM data) to set priorities and measure results.
- Based in the US, Eastern time zone (Central considered). Part of our team is in Eastern Europe, so you will start early to overlap for sprint ceremonies.
- Comfortable on camera and presenting to customers, and willing to travel occasionally, mainly to repair shops and trade shows.
Nice to Have
~1 min read- Experience selling to or building for SMBs and local service businesses.
- Auto repair or automotive aftermarket experience, through work or personal interest.
- Experience on a platform modernization or rebuild.
- Familiarity with Salesforce, Planhat, or PostHog.
- CSPO, CSM, or similar certification.
