Specialist IV - Serials & Public Service

Performs semi-professional work on various projects and programs. Work is performed under supervision within established policies with latitude for independent judgment. Employee performance is based upon a review of completed work and overall results obtained. May supervise specialized clerical section.

High school plus 4 years experience. Additional education may substitute on a year for year basis.

• Bachelor's degree is preferred
• Three or more years of customer service experience
• Library experience

• →Helps maintain electronic journal listings in Docline
• →Assists patrons at reference desk
• →Processes paperwork for journal subscriptions. Monitors and processes all changes to serials. Claim journals not received
• →Monitors specialized equipment (e.g., poster printer and scanner) for any issues, and reports those as needed. Troubleshoots as needed
• →Retrieves mail and delivers to appropriate parties. Prepares outgoing mail
