We’re hiring a Senior Accountant to join our finance team, reporting to the Director of Finance. In this role, you’ll join a lean, high-impact finance team that supports a growing multi-entity organization spanning insurance operations and international subsidiaries. You'll own key pieces of the monthly close process, serve as a primary point of contact for the annual audit, and help build the processes and controls that let finance scale with the business. This role has real ownership and visibility in a fast-moving company. Detail oriented, naturally curious, self-starting problem solvers will thrive here.

Responsibilities

→Bachelor's degree in Accounting
→4–8 years of accounting experience, ideally a combination of public accounting (audit) and private industry
→Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and month-end close processes, and the ability to research and apply technical accounting guidance
→Experience preparing financial statements and financial reporting
→Advanced Excel skills
→Exceptional attention to detail - your reconciliations tie out and you catch what others miss
→Curiosity and strong problem-solving skills: you want to understand why a number moved, and you can work through ambiguous issues without a playbook
→A self-starter mindset with the ability to manage your own deadlines and work independently in a remote environment
→Clear written and verbal communication with auditors, advisors, and non-finance colleagues

Insurance accounting experience (MGA/agency, carrier, reinsurance, or insurtech)
Experience with Sage Intacct
CPA license, or progress toward one
Experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition
Multi-entity, intercompany, and/or foreign currency accounting experience
Experience managing outside service providers such as auditors and tax advisors
Experience with Deel or other global payroll/contractor payment platforms
Budgeting and forecasting experience
Interest in using automation and AI tools to streamline accounting work

Candidates for this role must be located in the United States. Kansas City area candidates strongly preferred.
