Laundry Attendant

SUMMARY  A laundry attendant is in charge of ensuring that clean linens are supplied to the entire lodging department. Among the responsibilities include sorting, washing drying, pressing, and folding clothing and other textile items. They also remove stains from products by adhering to the manufacturer’s processes and use of commercial cleaning products. The Landry attendant may be in charge of cleaning the guests’ personal belongings. Other duties may be assigned.  Sorting linens, towels, clothing and other laundry items by color, size and material  Wrapping laundry items for pickup or delivery to customers and hospitality guests  Washing items with commercial laundry equipment following proper sanitization protocols  Cleaning and maintaining laundry room area and equipment  Unloading laundry from commercial dryers  Stocking laundry supplies such as detergent, bleach, laundry bags and fabric softener  Creating laundry tags with identifiable customer information  Creating invoices for laundry orders  Removing stains from items using the appropriate procedures  Performing minor sewing duties as needed    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE    Proven working experience as a housekeeper.  Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies.  Integrity and ability to work independently.  Good communication skills with excellent self-discipline and patience.  Fast pace worker and work well with others.    EDUCATION  High School Diploma or GED.      CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS   Requires possession of valid Class C driver license with a driving record meeting the minimum standards required by the resort’s insurance carrier.    REASONING ABILITY   Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.    PHYSICAL DEMANDS    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
