About St Francis Xavier College

St Francis Xavier College is a large 7 -12 comprehensive Catholic secondary school which has served the people of Canberra for nearly 50 years. About the Role

You will work collaboratively with the Finance Manager and Bursar/Business Manager to support the efficient financial operations of the College. Duties include but not limited to:

Assisting with day-to-day accounting tasks, including accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, and reporting;
Contributing to the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial statements;
Ensure compliance with relevant financial policies and procedures;
Provide accurate and timely support to internal stakeholders, fostering a culture of collaboration and service excellence.

This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a dynamic school environment. Please note this is a 48-weeks position, working throughout the school year including term breaks.

Qualifications and Eligibility

Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) clearance
Completed tertiary degree in Accounting or Business Administration
Willingness to obtain accreditation in accordance with Work Teach and Lead in Catholic Education Canberra and Goulburn policy
