The opportunity 

We are looking for experienced healthcare governance professionals to join our National Governance Bank. You will provide flexible, responsive support to individual hospital governance teams during vacancies, absence, increased workload or other periods when additional capacity is required. Assignments will be offered according to hospital need, so flexibility to support different locations is essential. 

What you will do 

• Provide practical governance support to hospital leadership and governance teams. 
• Support oversight of patient safety incidents, risks, complaints and governance actions. 
• Assist with audit, regulatory compliance and inspection readiness. 
• Review governance information, identify priorities and support effective escalation and improvement. 
• Support governance meetings, reporting, action tracking and shared learning. 
• Promote a patient-centred, learning and safety culture. 

What we are looking for 

• Significant healthcare experience, including governance and management experience. 
• Strong knowledge of healthcare quality governance, patient safety, risk and UK regulatory requirements. 
• Experience of clinical audit, incident management and improvement activity. 
• Excellent analytical, organisational, report-writing and communication skills. 
• The confidence to work independently, adapt quickly and build effective relationships with hospital teams.

Working Pattern

Bank | Flexible hours

Working hours will be offered as and when required, based on the needs of the Clinical Governance team. Shifts will typically fall Monday to Friday, between 8:00am and 6:00pm.
