Join Our Team as Retail Receiver!

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven individual to join our team as Retail Receiver. Reporting to the Grocery/Merchandizing Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in receiving and unloading incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders and packing slips. You will inspect and report any damages or discrepancies to the appropriate parties. You will sort, label, and store items in designated areas. You will update inventory records and maintain accurate stock levels.

Key Responsibilities:

As Retail Receiver your duties will include:

1.   Inventory Management:

a.    Work closely with team members and management to ensure inventory levels meet customer demands.
b.    Communicate any issues regarding inventory discrepancies or stock shortages promptly.
c.    Support the rotation of products based on department policies and product code dates.
d.    Assist in identifying and addressing products with expired dates/codes during deliveries
e.    Maintain accurate inventory counts and assist with periodic inventory audits.
f.    Verify inventory by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.
g.    Implement and maintain proper stock rotation practices to minimize spoilage or obsolescence.
h.    Assist in the handling and storage of deliveries, ensuring accurate and timely movement of goods.
i.    Assist in identifying and addressing products with expired dates/codes during deliveries.

2.  Stockroom Organization:

a.    Delivers products to the appropriate locations and forward proper documentation to accounts departments.
b.    Organize and store merchandise in the backroom or stockroom.
c.    Assist in preparing merchandise for display on the sales floor.
d.    Cleaning products to prepare for shipment to our customers.

3.    Order Fulfillment:

a.    Pick and pack merchandise for customer orders and restock items on the sales floor as needed.
b.    Receives product deliveries.
c.    Ensure purchase order number is on all paperwork.
d.    Inspect, accept, or reject inbound shipments.
e.    Receive, unpack, and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and quality.

4.    Safe and Efficient Operation:

a.    Operate forklift equipment in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to company safety protocols and procedures.
b.    Load, unload, and store deliveries using a forklift to maintain stock levels within the store.
c.    Follow safety procedures and guidelines when handling merchandise and operating equipment.

Requirements:

We are looking for candidates with:

•    Strong understanding of retail receiving procedures
•    Well-organized, able to multitask but also attentive to detail
•    Good interpersonal and communication skills
•    Strong time management abilities, including planning and prioritizing workloads
•    Creative and innovative thinking, customer Service

Educational Background and Experience:

•    Five (5) CXC’s including Mathematics and English.
•    One (1) years’ experience of receiving goods.
•    Proven experience as a retail receiver or similar role.
