Quick Summary
Strong experience in backend engineering, technical leadership, and the design and implementation of complex software systems, with a demonstrated ability to guide technical direction across teams.
We are looking for an experienced backend technical leader to shape the architecture and long-term technical vision of complex products and systems. In this role, you will drive strategic engineering initiatives, ensuring scalability, resilience, security, and alignment with business objectives. You will lead architectural decisions, guide cross-functional teams, and support the evolution of distributed systems and microservices. By combining hands-on technical expertise with strategic thinking, you will help simplify complex platforms and improve engineering efficiency. You will also champion automation, continuous delivery, and sustainable development practices. This is an opportunity to influence technical direction, mentor engineers, and deliver meaningful improvements in a collaborative, fully remote environment.
-
Technical Leadership and Architecture: Define and guide the technical vision for products and long-term projects, lead cross-team initiatives, and design scalable, resilient, and secure system architectures aligned with business and technology goals.
-
Strategic Project Execution: Lead high-impact initiatives from solution design through implementation, launch, and continuous improvement. Coordinate teams during complex transformations, including the gradual decomposition of monolithic systems into microservices.
-
Architectural Standards: Establish and document architecture guidelines covering API design, synchronous and asynchronous communication between services, data persistence, design patterns, and enterprise integration practices.
-
Code Quality and Security: Proactively reduce system complexity, improve code quality, and incorporate security-by-design principles into technical decisions while identifying and mitigating potential risks.
-
Technical Debt and Risk Management: Identify opportunities to address technical debt, break large projects into manageable releases, anticipate technical challenges, and develop practical solutions that minimize disruption to production systems.
-
Automation and Engineering Efficiency: Improve development workflows, deployment strategies, and CI/CD pipelines to enable reliable, frequent releases. Promote automation and optimize infrastructure costs and resource utilization.
-
Cloud Infrastructure and Resilience: Guide cloud-native engineering practices, infrastructure as code, containerization, orchestration, observability, and resilience strategies to strengthen system reliability and operational performance.
-
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate technical decisions and project progress clearly, build consensus across teams, engage relevant stakeholders, and represent technical perspectives in discussions with partners and customers.
-
Mentorship and Team Development: Mentor engineers, support recruitment, establish clear technical practices, and document processes and lessons learned to strengthen team capabilities and consistency.
