CVEDIA · Remote, anywhere (with overlap with European afternoons) · Full-time

(This job requires Advanced English (C1) proficiency - with the ability to communicate fluently and handle complex, fast-paced technical and professional tasks.)

CVEDIA builds AI video analytics for physical security, smart cities and defense. We train our own models, and we make them run about ten times more efficiently than our competitors, which makes every appliance far more cost-effective. Our models already run in real products on server and edge hardware around the world, and we ship them on our own appliances, from edge hubs to rack servers.

About the Role

~1 min read

We need someone to own that hardware line globally: the suppliers who build it, the partners who distribute it, and the story that sells it. Our appliances have to win on their own merits, so you will decide what we build, who builds it, where it sells and at what price.

You will report to our CTO and to our Chief Commercial Officer, and work closely with our engineers on what goes into each appliance. There is a lot to handle at the same time, and you will own all of it and set the priorities.

In your first months you will get to know our appliances, our suppliers and our software, and then turn them into a line we can sell worldwide. That means choosing the suppliers who can build at global scale, setting up how new hardware is tested and qualified before it ships, and picking the first distribution partners in each region.

If you have taken hardware from spec to shelf and know how to work with manufacturers and distributors, keep reading.

Responsibilities

~1 min read
  • →Own our relationships with system builders, ODMs and component vendors, including pricing, lead times, quality and continuity of supply.
  • →Decide which appliances belong in the lineup, when a new one comes in, and when an old one is retired.
  • →Build distribution across North America, Europe, LATAM and the Middle East, choosing the partners and the terms in each region.
  • →Lead hardware product marketing, from positioning and datasheets to launches and the tools our channel partners use to sell.
  • →Keep pricing, margins and inventory healthy, so that every appliance we sell earns its place in the lineup.
  • →Work with our engineers on CPU, GPU and storage choices, so that each appliance runs our models well at the right cost.

  • You have five or more years of experience in hardware product management.
  • You have managed contract manufacturers or system builders directly, from the first specification through production.
  • You have launched hardware products that sold at a healthy margin, and you can tell us the numbers.

  • Have worked in physical security, IT infrastructure or edge computing.
  • Have built or run distribution in more than one region.
  • Can discuss CPU, GPU and storage tradeoffs with engineers in enough depth to question their choices.
  • Have worked in a company that changed direction when its market did, and helped it adjust.

You do not need to tick every box. If you have taken hardware to market and want to own a whole line, we would like to hear from you.

  • You own it. There are no layers of approval and no committee between you and the supplier. You see the problem, you make the call, and we back you.
  • A product role. You decide how our appliances win, from what goes in the lineup to how it is priced and sold, rather than only buying what others specify.
  • A running start. You inherit a real lineup with real demand, not a blank page.
  • Direct influence. We are a small team, so you will work directly with all of us and see the effect of your decisions quickly.

  • We are fully remote and have no offices. We meet in person once a year at a company meetup, usually in Europe.
  • You need to overlap with European afternoons for our team meetings.
  • Partners in four regions sometimes need an early morning or a late evening call, so you need some flexibility in your hours.
  • Pay depends on your experience.

Please submit your resume/CV in English. Tell us about one hardware product you took to market: what you decided, what went wrong, and how it sold.

The interview process is a few calls with our managers.

CVEDIA welcomes applicants from every background and country. We judge your work, not your title or your path to it.
