CNPD Research Assistant

• Salary: $19-$20 hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
• Hours: will vary but will not exceed 19/week
• This position will work in person on the University of North Dakota campus

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.

This research position will support investigators in various research-related activities, providing essential assistance in meeting a grant's objectives. The grant investigates social determinants of prenatal substance use in American Indian communities.

This position will end when the grant closes, which is the end of February 2027.

• →Assist with photo exhibition preparation and coordination
• →Support quantitative/qualitative data analysis
• →Maintain organized research documentation
• →Assist with literature reviews and reference management
• →Assist with preparing manuscripts/presentations
• →Assist in preparing and submitting IRB applications
• →Assist in preparing and submitting grant proposals
• →Attend meetings with PI and other colleagues, as needed

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High level of organizational skills to assist with research activities in a timely manner
• Creativity in thinking and initiative
• Ability to interact well with diverse populations, including faculty and staff
• Cultural humility and commitment to community-engaged research

• Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, nutrition & dietetics, public health, criminal justice or related field OR equivalent experience.
• Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

• Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, nutrition & dietetics, public health, criminal justice or related field
• Experience with qualitative research methods
• Experience volunteering for, living in, or working with American Indian communities
