Responsibilities include:

→Perform thorough pre-admission assessments including medical history, medication reconciliation, and physical examinations to evaluate patient readiness for surgery or procedures.
→Educate patients about their upcoming procedures, including preoperative instructions, fasting guidelines, and post-operative care plans to ensure understanding and compliance.
→Collaborate with surgical teams, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care plans and communicate pertinent information effectively.
→Screen patients for potential risks related to anesthesia or surgery by reviewing medical histories including laboratory results; identify patients requiring additional evaluation or intervention.
→Assist with specimen collection/processing, IV insertions, venipuncture, and aseptic techniques during preoperative procedures when necessary.
→Monitor patient vital signs and conduct physical examinations while assessing physiological status to detect any contraindications or complications prior to surgery.
