Building Engineer

• →Operate, maintain, and repair Mechanical, Plumbing, Structural, Electrical, Fire, Life Safety, and Control systems to keep all facility and building systems performing to applicable standards
• →Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC systems and associated equipment, including cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and replacing parts to maintain optimum performance levels
• →Record equipment readings and system parameters, making necessary adjustments to ensure proper operation and identifying potential issues before they escalate
• →Perform periodic checks of tool and instrument inventory to ensure all equipment is available, properly maintained, and ready for use
• →Troubleshoot and repair lighting systems, including ballast replacement throughout the facility
• →Perform maintenance and repairs on plumbing fixtures including toilets, urinals, and hand wash stations, and operate drain cleaning augers to resolve blockages
• →Comply with departmental policies for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials while maintaining a clean and safe workplace at all times

• 5+ years of experience maintaining and repairing commercial building systems

• Ability to analyze the operation of various industrial Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and HVAC systems, determine the cause of problems or malfunctions, and take corrective action

• Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)

• Trade school education, union training, military service or college is desirable

• Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams)

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

• Comfort using ladders up to 30 feet tall

• Physical ability to bend, sit, kneel, squat, stand, reach, and lay as required to access equipment components for extended periods of time

• Strong customer service and communication skills
