General Labourer

We are looking for a General Labourer to join us and become part of our Arrow family in Fort St. James, BC. 

• →Perform manual labour tasks and support operations.  
• →Assist with site cleanliness, including sweeping, shoveling, and removal of spilled materials.
• →Inspect unloading areas for hazards or obstructions and ensure they are clear before and after truck unloading.
• →Basic upkeep of fleet equipment (trucks, trailers, shop equipment) including non-mechanical fixes/tasks, replenishment of of truck consumables, cleaning, washing, painting, etc.
• →Follow all workplace safety policies, and compliance regulations, participate in identifying hazards.
• →Maintain tidiness and organization of shop and yard.
• →Comply with all rules and regulations, protocols and established metrics.
• →Establish or adjust daily tasks/schedules to meet changing order priorities.
• →Keep yard and equipment neat and organized.
• →May be asked to travel to other terminals to assist if necessary.
• →Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of yard, shop, department, or work crew.
• →Ability to understand cross training on all functions at facility.
• →Other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.

• Valid Class 5 driver’s license
• Level 1 First Aid certification is an asset
• Experience working with computers is an asset 
• Strong safety mindset 
• Quality oriented 
• Needs to be responsible, accountable and dependable 
• Demonstrates strong communication skills both verbally and written 
• Strong work ethic and positive team attitude 
• Previous experience is not necessary 
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions (snow, rain, sub-freezing temps, heat, wind) 
• Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment 
• Strong attention to detail 
• Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule 
• Can carry at least 50 lbs and swing a 10 lbs sledge hammer 
• Good physical condition
