Bring an architecture practice's projects, people and culture to life through thoughtful graphic design, engaging content and consistent storytelling.
- Take ownership of hands-on graphic design and social content.
- Work alongside creative people with stories worth sharing.
- Shape the role around your strengths as you develop.
We are delighted to be partnering with an architecture practice bringing together creative teams across New Zealand. Its studios are home to people whose projects, ideas and expertise provide a rich foundation for visual storytelling.
The business is investing in dedicated graphic design and content capability to better communicate its work and culture. Working within the business support team, you'll collaborate with architects, principals and directors to create material that reflects the practice's creative identity and connects with clients, staff and future talent.
About the Role
~1 min readBased in the Auckland studio, the Graphic Designer & Content Creator will bring dedicated ownership to design and content delivery, improving the quality, consistency and presentation of the practice's marketing. The immediate priority is establishing a consistent social media presence, with LinkedIn showcasing projects and expertise, and Instagram bringing its people and studio culture to life.
Social media will account for around half of the role, from gathering stories and developing the content plan through to creating, captioning and publishing posts. You'll have guidance from the business support lead, a director and the communications principal, alongside room to contribute your own ideas.
The wider remit includes website updates, marketing collateral and internal content, plus adhoc graphic design and document production support for bids, tenders and events. The role can evolve around your strengths, with hands-on graphic design and content creation remaining central.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Develop and deliver the LinkedIn and Instagram content, maintaining a consistent flow of relevant posts.
- →Build relationships with principals and project teams to uncover stories and source material.
- →Create marketing collateral, capability statements and branded assets with thoughtful typography, layout and visual consistency.
- →Maintain website content and support internal communications that celebrate projects, people and achievements.
- →Support the submissions coordinator with bid and tender graphics, document production and event collateral.
- →Review content performance, refine your approach and introduce fresh ideas to strengthen engagement.
- Strong Design Eye: You bring thoughtful typography, layout and visual storytelling, with the ability to adapt your style to a creative practice's identity while maintaining brand consistency.
- Hands-on Delivery: You're confident using InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop, with examples of work you've personally created. You also bring practical experience creating and publishing social content.
- Commercial Experience: We're open to different experience levels, with scope to shape the role around your strengths. You'll need commercial experience applying your design and content skills in a working environment, so this role won't suit a graduate seeking their first position.
- Proactive Ownership: You seek out stories, generate ideas and keep content moving, including when there are fewer new projects or ready-made assets available. You organise your workload and follow through on delivery.
- Collaborative Approach: You can explain your creative thinking, respond constructively to feedback and adapt your work to shared priorities. You're willing to learn and support colleagues when deadlines or business needs shift.
You'll have the opportunity to see your work shape how a creative business presents itself. There is room to explore ideas, strengthen the brand's visual expression and build a varied portfolio across social, digital and print, with guidance from people who understand the practice and its direction.
As you demonstrate your strengths, there may be scope to take on broader responsibility and help shape the role's development. Bring fresh thinking, with the freedom to take it further.
Ready to bring your design eye and storytelling skills into a creative studio environment? Please submit your CV only at this stage. Following our initial review, selected applicants will be invited to share a portfolio or examples of work they've personally created.
